Meet the Zimbabwean woman behind the new TPC Mobile phones

It’s not everyday when someone’s dreams actually come true, but the same cannot be said for Thelma Panashe Chidavaenzi, the woman behind the exciting new Zimbabwean mobile phone company, TPC Mobile.

TPC stands for Thelma Panashe Chidavaenzi (TPC), get it! According to Thelma the idea to conceive TPC Mobile came to her in a dream, yes in a dream. From the short period of time I got to spend with her, you can tell, she is a very humble, very religious and soft spoken woman, but don’t let the looks fool you.

The company has ventured into a very competitive device market with very stiff competition from established local companies including GTel, Astro Mobile, Tecno and others, but according to Thelma Chidavaenzi at this stage their brand is not focused on competition but on improving the quality of the mobile devices.

TPC Mobile phones are selling fast

Business for TPC Mobile has been good, such that when I got to their offices they had run out of stock, according to her(Thelma) they did not anticipate such a huge demand for their products, and I am not shocked TPC Mobile phones range between $100 – $150, and for very good phones by the way, at first glance (Stay tuned for the full review).

At the moment TPC Mobile only has 3 ranges of phones to choose from;

TPC Xtreme 9S

The Phone features a 5.5’’ display, 720P resolution, Octacore Mediatek Processor, 3GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 13MP camera and a host of other features, plus they are running Android.

Other devices in their lineup include the TPC Compact R7 and the TPC Prime M8 and they both have close to similar specs; you can find out more about the devices on the TPC Mobile website.

TPC Mobile will soon be embarking on Road Shows to promote their their mobile phones in Harare and hopefully the rest of the nation.
